Clinton sits far enough west of Jackson that it gets its own weather patterns some seasons, and its own mix of older and newer housing stock.

Roofing in Clinton

Jackson, Mississippi
Griffin Construction Solutions roof inspection and repair

A town with two distinct housing eras

Clinton has a core of older homes near the college and downtown area with lower-pitch roofs and decking that has often been replaced more than once, sitting alongside newer subdivisions built out toward the edges of town with steeper architectural roofs. The two types fail differently, and we treat them differently from the first walk of the roof.

Older Clinton roofs are more likely to have hidden decking problems under the shingles, since replacements over the years were not always full tear-offs. Newer roofs are more likely to have a wind or flashing issue than a structural one.

Storm exposure west of Jackson

Storm fronts moving through Mississippi do not always hit Clinton the same way they hit central Jackson, and we have seen storm calls cluster in Clinton on days when the rest of the metro had a lighter hit, and the reverse. That is part of why every storm inspection starts from scratch on the actual roof rather than from what a storm did somewhere else in the metro that same week.

Hail tends to show up here in the same bruising pattern as elsewhere: granule loss that is easy to miss from the ground and only obvious once you are standing on the roof looking closely at the shingle surface.

Working with Clinton's older neighborhoods

In the older parts of town, driveways and lots tend to be tighter, and trees closer to the house than in newer construction. We plan material staging and debris placement around that during the estimate, not on the morning the crew shows up, so the job does not create more disruption than it has to for the property or the street.

A number of our repeat Clinton customers first called about a single leak and ended up having us look at the whole roof system, since one leak in an older home is rarely the only weak point.

Construction work alongside roofing

Clinton has seen its share of general construction and remodeling calls that started as a roof inspection and grew once we found related issues in the attic or along the exterior wall. Fascia and soffit rot from years of gutter overflow, siding damage from wind, and small framing repairs tied to old leaks are common findings once a roof job opens things up.

We handle those under the same estimate and the same crew rather than sending you to find a separate contractor for work that is directly connected to the roof.

What to expect from an estimate here

A Clinton roof estimate follows the same process as anywhere else in our service area: a full walk of the roof, photos of anything worth noting, and a written scope before any work is priced. Distance from central Jackson does not change how thorough the inspection is, and it does not change how the job gets scheduled once you decide to move forward.
